- If the painting arrives heavily damaged and it is unrepairable (tears/rips, dents) with proof, full price of painting including shipping will be refunded.

This painting joined my Renaissance & Victorian Pet series in September of 2023. Despite being the third piece added to this series, it was definitely the most difficult. With the Meowna Lisa, adapting da Vinci's style with my own was challenging, yet I was able to grasp his concept of stylized hyperrealism due to my experience with it. However, with this piece, I definitely had to study Vermeer's painting for quite some time, since I felt like I really had to limit what I understood of realism in order to capture the value and perception of his beautiful painting. I particularly enjoyed transferring the emotion from the girl in his painting to this quite innocent appearing cat. Someone pointed out that the emotion depicted in this kitty versus miss Lisa was nearly polar opposite, which I found very accurate to their original pieces.
This piece was also showcased in a fall event hosted by the Erie, PA shelter Because You Care, where money was fundraised to support the animal foster system and pet adoption. Find them here: https://www.becauseyoucare.org/
